CONCERT AWARDED THE CANADIAN HOME BUILDING INDUSTRY'S HIGHEST HONOUR OF THE GRAND SAM AWARD

Vancouver, BC, Canada – Concert is very pleased to announce that it has won the coveted Grand SAM Award, presented at the Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) National Conference in Banff, Alberta on February 23.

The award recognizes outstanding performance in both the building and marketing of a single project, and was presented to Concert for The O'Keefe, a seniors residence on the West side of Vancouver.

"We are extremely proud to have won the Grand SAM," said Concert Properties President and CEO David Podmore. "This is the highest honour in the Canadian residential construction industry, and we are particularly pleased that it was The O'Keefe, our first seniors residence, that received this recognition.

The O'Keefe, which also won the CHBA's New Home Award in the multi-family over four-storeys category, is an integral part of Arbutus Walk, a master-planned community created by Concert on the site of the former Carling O'Keefe Brewery. Its central architectural feature is an exact replica of the original "Brewer's Tower" paying tribute to a bygone era as both a new landmark and neighbourhood heritage preservation. The O'Keefe is the seventh and final project within Arbutus Walk.

The National SAM Awards recognize excellence in new homes and renovation design, innovative technology and construction techniques, and outstanding marketing and sales activities. The competition is open to all new home builder, renovator and developer members of the CHBA. All entries are reviewed by an independent panel of judges selected from across the country.

"The National SAM Awards is the Canadian Home Builders' Association's premier new homes, home renovations, sales and marketing competition," said Jim Thomson, President of the CHBA. "The calibre of the entries from across Canada for the 2003 National SAM Awards was exceedingly high. Winning a SAM Award is a tremendous achievement."
