Concert Properties' Employees Sleep Out to Support Homeless Youth in our Communities

As part of our 30-Year Anniversary, Concert Properties proudly partnered with Covenant House to host the very first Community Edition Sleep Out in Vancouver and the first Company Sleep Out in Toronto.

Fifty-one staff in Vancouver and thirty-seven staff in Toronto slept outside for one night, with only a sleeping bag and a piece of cardboard. Though spending one night on the street offers only a small glimpse of what the most vulnerable youth face every night, participants raised critical funds and greater awareness of these youth in need.

Concert employees and head office raised over $110,000 for Covenant House to help address youth homelessness in our communities. As Canada’s largest agency serving youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk, Covenant House offers the widest range of 24-7 services. Covenant House has supported more than 100,000 young people within Vancouver and Toronto, providing food, clothing, shelter, counselling, and most of all, a place of stability.

“I have seen a significant increase in Vancouver and Toronto’s homeless population over the past several decades, with over 6,000 homeless youth sleeping out on any given night across Canada. I am so proud that 88 employees directly participated in this event, with support from donors, in an effort to each do our part to raise awareness and funds for youth in need,” says Brian McCauley, President and CEO, who has participated in three Sleep Outs to date. “By taking up the challenge of spending one night on the street, we are demonstrating our commitment to our communities and making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable. Together, we are giving back and making a difference.
