Spring Food Drive Raises Record Donations

Concert gives back to our communities in many ways, including our bi-annual food drives held in the fall near Thanksgiving and spring before Easter. We’ve been holding food drives for ten years in the communities where are buildings are located, supporting relevant local charities like the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, The Mustard Seed in Victoria and Share Society in Coquitlam.

Penny Hall, Property Manager, has been involved in numerous food drives at other companies – “it’s something I’ve always done,” she says. She joined Concert about a year ago and encouraged by Concert’s ethos of giving back, she jumped in and joined the BC Property Management team to support the Spring Food Drive that recently wrapped up. The Spring Drive kicked off with a note sent to all residential rental properties that we manage across BC. Donations were collected at each property, and the staff drove to each location and collected the food - thanks to Francisco Uribe, Assistant Operations Manager, and Ram Gopal, Operations Manager, for their efforts in picking up the donated food this year.

The Vancouver-based donations were then weighed at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. A total of 885 pounds was received; in comparison, the Fall Food Drive delivered 773 pounds. Additional food was also donated, picked up and delivered to Share Society and the Mustard Seed Society (the latter holds an ongoing food drive all year round).

Thanks to the entire department for their efforts in supporting this worthy cause!
