Founded on the principle of building high-quality affordable rental and for-sale homes, Concert also plays a key role as community builder. While the bottom line is important in any business endeavour, our bottom line includes people. Concert Properties sees its role as community builder as extremely important. Some examples are:
Cottage Hospice, a 10-bed hospice for terminally ill, owned and operated by St. James Community Services Society where Concert donated project management services for no charge to the Society's capital campaign.
As part of Concert's community amenity contribution for rezoning our 28-acre Collingwood Village development site from industrial use to multi-family residential housing, the company built Collingwood Neighbourhood House, a 25,000-square-foot community amenities building which includes an 8,000-square-foot gymnasium and a 7,000-square-foot daycare centre accommodating up to 69 children.
In keeping with the City of Vancouver's desire to provide communities with better access to and communication with the police officers that patrol local neighbourhoods, Concert built and donated the first-ever Community Crime Prevention Office, a street-front community police office located within Collingwood Village.
