Salt sells out in short order

Salt, Concert’s latest condominium project in downtown Vancouver officially sold out last week. The 194 homes in this distinctly urban highrise sold in less than six months making it downtown Vancouver’s most successful new condominium development of the year. 

Excavation is well under way at Hornby and Drake streets. Completion is scheduled for late spring 2014.  

'Tis the season…for awards

With a recent win at the MAC Awards and a cumulative 11 nominations between the Georgie and SAM Awards, Concert’s mantle is about to get a bit more crowded.   

For the third time in five years Concert received the coveted Rental Development of the Year award in the annual MAC Awards held by the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO). Concert and its partners OMERS and Sun Life were recognized for Sierra, a 21-storey highrise in their master-planned community of Village Gate West in Etobicoke. 

Concert also received ten nominations in the 2011 Georgie Awards by the BC Chapter of the Canadian Homebuilders’ Association. Patina, the company’s landmark 42-storey tower in downtown Vancouver was nominated for Best Multi-Family High Rise, Best Sales Centre and for High Rise Residential Community of the Year. Also in Vancouver, Concert’s Tapestry at Wesbrook Village UBC seniors community was nominated for Best Multi-Family Low Rise, Best Multi-Family Landscape Design, Best Signage, Best Brochure, Best Ad Campaign, Marketing Campaign of the Year and for the Sustainable and Innovative Community Award. Winners will be announced at the 2011 Georgie Awards Gala, which will take place in Vancouver on February 25, 2012. 

In the 2011 SAM Awards by the national chapter of the Canadian Homebuilders’ Association, Concert received a nomination for Patina in the Best Multi-Family Development category. The CHBA National SAM Award winners will be called to stage at the association’s national conference on March 17, 2012 in Quebec. 

Andrew Grey joins Concert; Bob McKay retires after 18 years 

Concert is pleased to announce that Andrew Gray has joined the Toronto office as Vice President, Eastern Region. Andrew brings senior development experience to the company as a previous Vice President, Development for Waterfront Toronto, Tribute Communities and Wittington Properties. With numerous Concert projects underway in Toronto, Andrew is sure to be put to good use quickly.

Just as Andrew comes aboard the company bids farewell to Bob McKay who recently retired. Bob served as Senior Vice President, New Business Initiatives, and was with Concert for an impressive 18 years. Co-workers, friends, family and business partners gathered at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver last month to honour his tremendous contribution to the company’s success. We all wish Bob the best in his retirement!
