Downtown Eastside residents enjoyed a barbecue presented by the Union Gospel Mission and Concert Properties at Oppenheimer Park in Vancouver Saturday. As people lined up around the block, 6,000 chicken burgers, 6,000 smokies, 1,500 lbs. of coleslaw, 1,500 lbs. of pasta salad, 1,000 lbs. of pickles, 6,000 cans of pop and 6,000 freezes were served.
