Vancouver, BC, Canada – Concert upped the ante this year raising a record-breaking $140,000 in support of the BCIT Trades Discovery Sponsorship Program in their 14th annual golf tournament.
It was a day of luxury and high stakes on the course where golfers enjoyed more than just a simple game of golf. This year’s Casino Royale theme channeled the luxury of Monte Carlo as golfers enjoyed the ambience of themed holes including a luxury beachside cabana, nautical bar, boardwalk bistro and martini bar. In addition, there was plenty of gambling to be had with a selection of casino favourites such as blackjack and roulette.
Not only was it another fun-filled day on the course,” said Brian McCauley, President, Concert Properties Ltd., “it was also a thrill to witness such generosity from the trades and suppliers Concert works with on a regular basis. As a result of their sponsorship and participation, this year’s contribution represents our best ever. Since 2002, Concert Properties and industry partners have been working together to support the Trades Discovery Sponsorship Program. Recognizing the importance of an ongoing supply of highly-skilled and well-trained trades people to the construction trades industry, this program supports building trades students in the Trades Discovery Program at BCIT.
Over the past decade Concert has contributed nearly $1.3 million in support of BCIT students in trades and technology programs related to the construction industry through various initiatives. With the generous support of the 149 golfers who played at QGolf Club (Quilchena Golf & Country Club) in Richmond on Thursday, September 8 Concert was able to raise an impressive jackpot of $140,000 for a truly worth cause.
