TORONTO ARTISTS TAKE THEIR BRUSHES TO THE STREET

Vancouver, BC, Canada – Concert is pleased to be a proud sponsor of “Paint the Street!” – a new, month-long event in the Village of Islington.

For five Saturdays in June, the process of mural creation will become street theatre as artists of every stripe turn the Village of Islington into an outdoor art gallery. The event will include a children’s chalk festival, paint to music parties and a classic car show.

The Mural Route extends throughout the Village from 4709 Dundas St. West, to Kipling and Islington. Along the route, will be children’s activities and entertainment with clowns, face painting, balloon artists, strolling musicians and storytellers from the Toronto Public Library.

At present, there are four murals in Islington along Dundas St. West. All murals in the village are part of The Islington Mosaic/Heritage Murals Project, a partnership of the Village of Islington BIA, The Heritage Etobicoke Foundation and Toronto Economic Development.

A closing ceremony with entertainment and a chance to meet the mural artists takes place at Michael Power Park on Saturday, June 30 from 1 – 3 pm.

“Paint the Street!” is proudly presented by the Village of Islington Business & Property Owners, Concert, Lewis, Macanowicz, Associates, the Co-operators, The New Country 95.3, Benjamin Moore in co-operation with Village Paint, Toronto Economic Development and Edwards Builders Hardware.
