Concert hosts Town Hall Meeting regarding Harbourside

For the past several years, Concert has envisioned the existing Harbourside Business Park as a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented, and sustainable community where people can live, work, shop and play. Located on 12 acres of prime waterfront land, Concert believes that adding a mix of uses to Harbourside will result in dramatic improvements to the business park and the City of North Vancouver’s longest stretch of pedestrian-accessible waterfront; transforming it into a vibrant mixed-use "village".

After a successful application to amend the City of North Vancouver’s Official Community Plan (OCP) in July 2012  to allow residential uses development on the site, the rezoning application process has been ongoing to secure development rights. After rezoning, a City-lead community process will guide programming of both the original and newly-dedicated park space.

While not a requirement of rezoning, Concert is committed to public engagement and has organized a Town Hall Meeting on September 30. At the Town Hall, we will present our revised application for rezoning which includes a number of changes and improvements since our Open House and Developer Information Session in early 2013. The revised application integrates an updated flood management design that can be adapted for sea level rise over time; an updated transportation assessment that improves access and parking to the site and mitigates the effects of this development on surrounding neighbourhoods; and a Community Amenity Contribution (CAC) plan which includes a number of on-site and off-site amenities such as upgrades to the public park space as well as a significant cash contribution to the City.

Residents and businesses who may be affected by the zoning change are encouraged to join us at our Town Hall Meeting to learn more about this exciting development and have their questions answered.
