Going for gold in selecting new CFO

Vancouver, BC, Canada – We are excited to announce our most recent development — the appointment of John McLaughlin as Chief Financial Officer.

For over a decade, John served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC). He played an integral role in making Vancouver’s 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games one of the most successful in Olympic history. For his tireless efforts, he received the highest honour possible from the International Olympic Committee — the Olympic Order.

“We are extremely proud to welcome John to our team,” said David Podmore, Concert’s Chairman and CEO. “John’s strength in identifying strategic priorities, developing plans for delivery and managing execution of critical initiatives will prove invaluable to Concert.”

Prior to his involvement with the Olympics John held senior finance positions within Norwesco Packaging, a not-for-profit organization and the event that put Vancouver on the map — Expo 86.

John holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and has thirty years of experience as a Chartered Accountant. In 2010 the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC awarded him their prestigious Fellowship designation, FCA, in recognition of the honour he has brought to his profession.

This strategic acquisition further strengthens Concert’s position as one of the most diversified and fully integrated development companies in Canada and helps to ensure our future will be golden.
